The function of PXI extension card is to extend the PXI backplane signal outside of the chassis. Inserting the PXI card to extension card can easily check or measure the PXI card's signal under power on condition, which resolves the problems of inconvenient inspection due to the PXI card inside the chassis for RD or maintenance personnel. PXI extension card is able to isolate the voltage and signals sent to the PXI card for hot swap when the system is powered on. Every time the extension card activates it can supply the power required for PXI initialization. It eliminates the need for rebooting PC when users read and re-write the configuration files.

The module is designed to provide a simple and scalable bidirectional matrix for RF frequencies. Isolation Switches are located on all coaxial connectors, these disconnect the matrix from the external test fixture. This maximizes isolation and RF performance.

Matrix Switch Module
This is a PXI signal insertion and monitor matrix with switched pass thru connections on both X and Y axis. It is also availablein a 16x4 format and can be used for signal insertion and monitoring purposes on connections between the UUT and test system. Each pass thru connection from LX to X can be open or closed to allow the programmatic disconnection of the signal to check the response of the UUT. The matrix can be used to connect test equipment, such as a DMM or scope, to monitor the pass thru signals via Y connections while the LY connections can be used to insert a fault condition or insert external signals. When external signals are injected the LX connections can be opened and the LY connections closed.

This range of PXI high power switches support 6-off high current SPST switches into two PXI slots or 3-off high current SPST switches into one PXI slot.
