Universal Function Test System for Industrial Electronics

General functional test system based on LXI instrumentation for high mix / low to medium volume manufacturing. DUTs are tested which are mainly used as communication and measurement modules in power plant technology, grid management and electrical drives.The system has a Virginia Panel adapter interface to which various desk adapters can be docked, including automated contacting of the DUTs. A camera for the verification of light emitting diodes on the test object is integrated in the adapter interface.

Hipot Tests

The hipot test (high potential test) or dielectric withstand test, is used to determine the insulation and dielectric strength. It is carried out on modules, devices and systems of protection class I + II. In this test, the insulation of the test object is subjected to greater stress by the high voltage than in normal operation. The load system is intended for testing satellite power supply systems; due to the integration with a solar array simulator and a battery simulator, it can perform validation and commissioning of satellite power supplies. The system is equipped with regenerative electronic loads and customer-specific high-power switching matrices for routing the DUT channels to the relevant loads. The individual voltages and currents for each channel can be read back via a Keysight Technologies switch mainframe.The system is equipped with high electrical power; its loads are capable of feeding the energy back into the power grid.

LXinstruments Magpie is a user-friendly evaluation and data mining application for our test database. The data to be evaluated can be preselected via complex, easily configurable filters. Based on the selected data, it is then possible to create reports and perform statistical evaluations as well as machine capability analyses. The graphical GUI supports easy administration of the database by authorized users.The LXinstruments Magpie evaluation licenses are always linked to the data source, which would generally mean a test system. The test data generated by the test system will be marked as available for evaluation while it is stored in the database.

Testing the protective conductor is indispensable for assemblies, devices and systems of protection class I because it reduces the risk of life-threatening electrical accidents.The test checks whether the protective earth (PE) fulfils the criteria specified in the standards and can correctly discharge the current occurring in case of a fault.The ground continuity test checks whether the protective earth conductor is connected continuously to all metallic enclosure parts that can be touched by the user. The test can be carried out with low currents and voltages (simple continuity test).

The battery simulator is used for testing satellite power supplies and is used in combination with a Solar Array Simulator and load systems (consumer simulation) for the validation and commissioning of satellite power supplies. Loads and power supplies in the battery simulator are operated in combination to represent a 2-square function and to simulate both charging and discharging of the battery.
