Combined Load Banks
C-Series
-
C-series combined load banks are devices which contain resistive and reactive loads, apply the load to an electrical power source and dissipate the power of the electrical power.

Air Core Current Limiting Reactors
-
Current Limiting Reactor (CLR) is one of the most effective short circuit current limiting devices. It reduces stresses on busses, insulators, circuit breakers and other high voltage devices. Use of CLR is the most practical and economical approach at current limiting.

Primary Current Injection Testers
-
Primary Current Injection Tester is designed for testing protective relay and circuit breakers and also testing the turns ratio of current transformers at high variable currents. A test current is injected into the primary side of a system to determine how the system behaves at particular levels of current. This test makes it possible to determine whether the relay will trip and how long the current needs to flow before the trip is initiated.

LV Iron Core Line & Load Reactors
-
Line and load reactors are generally serial-connected to the input and/or output terminals of three phase equipment such as motor speed controllers, inverters and UPS systems. These equipment make use of semiconductor switches such as IGBTs, thyristors, and diodes and therefore create harmonic distortion and high switching over-voltages (dv/dt). Use of such equipment has been becoming more widespread as the technology advances. However, the negative effects of these equipment should not be overlooked.

Motor Starting & Control Resistors
-
Motor Starting Resistors are used to reduce the voltage at the motor terminals and also decrease the starting current. Motor Starting Resistors are necessary because the self resistance of a motor armature is very low. When the voltage is first applied, excessive current will flow. For limiting this current, since there will be no resisting back electromotive force (emf),some series resistance can be added to the armature windings.

Air Core Harmonic Filter Reactors
-
Use of nonlinear loads such as power electronics based equipment and electric furnaces have been on the rise for the last decades. Such loads decrease the power quality of the network that they are connected to. One of the most important parameters for defining the power quality is harmonic distortion.

Slip-Ring Motor Starting Panels
Rotor Starter
-
The Slip-Ring Motor Starters are based on the series of resistors that are applied to the rotor circuit to control the speed/torque characteristics of the motor. Rotor starters are mainly used for the motor starting applications requiring high-starting torque like loaded belt conveyors in mining industry. By external resistors, it is possible to shift the motor maximum (break-down) torque up to starting torque point for motors under heavy loads during start-up. The resistors are splitted into some steps and controlled via contactors by motor starting control system. As the motor speed increases, the external rotor resistors are eliminated by shorting contactors until all external resistors are shorted out.

Dynamic Braking Resistors
-
Speed of three phase asynchronous squirrel-cage motors and three phase synchronous motors are generally controlled by motor drives where frequency of the drive output determines the motor speed, and it can be adjusted without dependence on the voltage magnitude.

Crowbar Resistors
-
Crowbar resistors are three phase resistance banks which are connected to the rotor windings of the DFIG (Doubly-Feed Induction Generator) such as wind power generator. They are used to prevent damage to the inverter circuits attached to rotor side when a fault occurs in the grid. DFIG power converter, which has a restricted over-current limit, needs special attention during faults in the grid. If the rotor current or DC link voltage reaches the threshold value, crowbar resistors disconnect the converter in order to prevent the generator turning into a squirrel cage induction machine. By crowbar resistors, the DFIG could stay connected to the grid and continue its operation.
