The RFM-ADCFN10 is a ten channel Analog to Digital converter FMC which complies with VITA 57.1-2010. Each channel provides single-ended analog input and 16-bit single-ended output with 20-105MHz sampling speed based on ADI AD9650. Both AC and DC coupled input are supported. Single-ended external clock, differential external clock or an internal clock from the FMC carrier board can be selected at the FMC for the AD converter through fine clock generator ADI AD9518-3.

The Creonic L-band RF receiver FMC card allows to receive RF signals between 925 and 2,250 MHz. It is ideally suited for satellite communication with standard satellite dishes since it includes a DiSEqC driver IC for LNB controlling. The board allows to build receivers with symbol rates of up to 100 Msymbols/s. Due to the low-pin-count (LPC) FMC connector it can be used with any FMC carrier board that supports VADJ=1.8V. The offset adjustment does not clip the signal at the highest range (+/- 5V). That is why the “max input signal amplitude” has been specified as 10V, even though the selection of signal ranges only goes up to 5V. This way, a +10V pulse with -5V offset could still be digitised without clipping.

The SMT700 is one of the first of a new range of Sundance cards that includes a direct connection to SLB (Sundance Local Bus) compatible mezzanine card, without the need for a Sundance TIM. This enables a variety of cards to be added to a system, for example extra Ethernet ports, video in/out, High speed ADC / DAC etc. Data from these extra cards (along with data from the SMT700’s own inputs – up to 1Gb/s Ethernet, 2.5Gb/s optical links, and RSL links) can be processed via the Virtex 5, or by another linked card or module.
