Low Input Bias Current Op Amps (≤100 pA)
Low input bias current op amps are required whenever the difference of currents or voltage is small and needs to be measured accurately. These op amps are used so that the signal is not loaded down by the input of the op amps. Low input bias current op amps are critical for interfacing sensors in applications from photodiodes, pH meters, or other electrometer related functions to downstream electronics. Analog Devices has many precision op amps that fit the definition and range of these applications.

Photometers & Colorimeters
Instrument Systems Optische Messtechnik GmbH
A photometer is used to measure the photometric quantities of illuminance (lx), luminous intensity (cd), luminous flux (lm), and luminance (cd/m²). The integral method and the fast response time of silicon photodiodes means that photometers can achieve an outstanding measuring speed. They are therefore ideal for performing fast goniophotometric measurements. We take great care in the development and production of photometer heads and use innovative amplifier technologies.

Transducers For Photodiodes
Photodiodes convert incoming electromagnetic radiation into electrical charge carriers. If photodiodes are short circuited an electrical current (photocurrent) proportional to the incident radiation intensity (number of photons per second) is induced. These photocurrents are generally small and cover the range from femtoampere (fA) to microampere (µA). Signal transducers transform this weak photocurrent to robust standard signals for reliable data transmission and simple data acquisition.

Colorimeter
K10-A
The Klein K10-A has long been regarded as the industry standard in LCD calibration. It's enhanced optics give it a 3X advantage in sensitivity over the original K-10 SF. Known for it's superior speed, the K10-A can stream intensity data in 3.2 milliseconds, and can provide color data in 125 milliseconds. The Klein K10-A is also extremely sensitive and color accurate. Large photo-diodes give the probe superior performance even in extremely low light (down to 0.00006 cd/m2). Klein diodes are very large; 5mm x 5mm each, and are thermally stable and linear to report the highest degree of accuracy. The unparalleled speed and iconic design of this colorimeter have made it the most widely known Klein product.

PIN Diodes
PIN photodiodes convert light to current – without a bias voltage having to be applied. Silicon is commonly used as an inexpensive detector material in the Vis range. For higher demands, InGaAs is used; it covers the widest spectral range from the Vis to the NIR. We offer silicon carbide as a “solar-blind” detector specifically for the UV range.

Charge Integrator Amplifiers
AD8488
Analog Devices’ charge integrator amplifiers convert the charge acquired by X-ray or photodiode detectors to a voltage. The channels are composed of CMOS transistors, using typical high input impedance CMOS gates. The integrators generate charge dependent voltages using a range of selectable capacitance values that accommodate a broad range of input charge values. The integrators are followed by single-ended input to differential output voltage amplifiers where offset and low frequency noise voltages are subtracted from the input voltages.

UV Index Measurement
The sglux UV-Index sensors measure the UVI with a worldwide unique low measurement uncertainty of less than 5 %. This makes our sensors compliant to the highest measurement precisions class one according the DIN/EN 5031-11, chapter 8. Since 2018 our product UV-Cosine_UVI (ERYCA) is appointed for public authority tasks: The German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) services 27 measurement points in Germany for public information of the daily UV-Index. Twenty of these points (Andernach, Chieming, Duderstadt, Fichtelberg, Genthin, Giessen-Wettenberg, Schauenburg-Kassel, Langen, Lueneburg, Munchen-Neuherberg, Norderney, Belm/Osnabrueck, Schauinsland, Tholey, Todendorf, Waldhof-Falkenstein, Waldmuenchen, Wurmberg, Zingst and Zirchow) use the sglux ERYCA to obtain the local UV-Index value. In 2017 ARPANSA (Australian Government’s primary authority on radiation protection and nuclear safety) began replacing the existing biometers with SiC photodiode UV sensors (sglux ERYCA) at all network sites. There are currently thirteen measurement sites in Australia that have been upgraded to the new sensors.

Phototransistors
Phototransistors are photodiode-amplifier combinations integrated within a single silicon chip. The phototransistor can be viewed as a photodiode whose output current is fed into the base of a conventional transistor. These photodiode-amplifier combinations are put together to overcome the major limitation of photodiodes: unity gain. The typical gain of a phototransistor can range from 100 to over 1500.

PIN Photodiode
PIN photodiode is a kind of photo detector, it can convert optical signals into electrical signals. This technology was invented in the latest of 1950's. There are three regions in this type of diode. There is a p-region an intrinsic region and an n-region. The p-region and n-region are comparatively heavily doped than the p-region and n-region of usual p-n diodes. The width of the intrinsic region should be larger than the space charge width of a normal p-n junction. The PIN photo diode operates with an applied reverse bias voltage and when the reverse bias is applied, the space charge region must cover the intrinsic region completely. Electron hole pairs are generated in the space charge region by photon absorption. The switching speed of frequency response of photo diode is inversely proportional to the life time. The switching speed can be enhanced by a small minority carrier lifetime. For the photo detector applications where the speed of response is important, the depletion region width should be made as large as possible for small minority carrier lifetime as a result the switch speed also increases.
