Transmission Line Pulse Testing
Transmission Line Pulse testing, or TLP testing, is a method for semiconductor characterization of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection structures. In the Transmission Line Pulse test, high current pulses are applied to the pin under test (PUT) at successively higher levels through a coaxial cable of specified length. The applied pulses are of a current amplitude and duration representative of the Human Body Model (HBM) event (or a Charged Device Model – CDM – event in the case of Very Fast TLP, or VF-TLP).

Model PS-1

The Model PS1 under tank probe is designed to be used in conjunction with customer-supplied ¾” National Pipe Thread (NPT) PVC piping and the product has a ¾” (NPT) threaded end that accepts a standard coupling. Any number of pipe pieces can be combined via couplings to provide the required probe insertion length under a tank. The probe can be combined with any standard reference electrode with a ¼ x 20 threaded fitting, including the RE-5, RE-5C and RE-7 portable reference electrodes. Reference electrodes are sold separately. The sealed cable to be fed through a customer-supplied PVC pipe comprises #16 AWG wire with red colored PVC insulation and the wire length can be selected via the radio buttons in the field below.

Analog Devices’ charge integrator amplifiers convert the charge acquired by X-ray or photodiode detectors to a voltage. The channels are composed of CMOS transistors, using typical high input impedance CMOS gates. The integrators generate charge dependent voltages using a range of selectable capacitance values that accommodate a broad range of input charge values. The integrators are followed by single-ended input to differential output voltage amplifiers where offset and low frequency noise voltages are subtracted from the input voltages.

PCB's acquisition of Endevco's full line of testing sensors means all Endevco sensors are now backed by PCB's Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) guarantee. Endevco® cryogenic piezoelectric accelerometers are built specifically for measuring vibration under cryogenic conditions down to -452° F (-269° C). Signal outputs of these units are very stable even at extremely low temperatures. Their rugged internal construction is designed to withstand multiple cycles of thermal shock with steep temperature gradient. The accelerometers are self-generating devices that require no external power source for operation and contain no electronics.
