The LISST-DEEP instrument obtains in-situmeasurements of particle size distribution,optical transmission, and the opticalvolume scattering function (VSF). Using ared 670nm diode laser and a customsilicon detector, small-angle scatteringfrom suspended particles is sensed at 32specific log-spaced angle ranges. Thismeasurement is post-processed to obtainsediment size distribution, volumeconcentration, optical transmission, andVSF. The electronics and opticalconfiguration in the LISST-DEEP are verysimilar to Sequoia’s workhorse, the LISST-100X. However, because of the extremedifficulty associated with keepingalignment under high pressure, the LISSTDEEPhardware design is radically differentfrom the LISST-100X. This allows theLISST-DEEP to be deployed down to 3000m and obtain reliable measurements ofthe in situ particle size distribution andvolume concentration in waters withoptical transmission up to 98.5%.

The GO-8105M-5GE-UV is JAI’s highest resolution UV-sensitive area scan camera. The camera features a state-of-the-art Sony Pregius S sensor with backside illumination (BSI) technology, offering spectral sensitivity well into the UVC region. Quantum efficiency at 200 nm is above 25% and is between 40-50% for nearly all of the UVA and UVB range. A 5GBASE-T GigE Vision interface provides 8.1-megapixel monochrome images at up to 66 fps. The interface automatically adjusts to 2.5GBASE-T or 1000BASE-T speeds depending on the performance capabilities of the network.

The Model T102 TRS analyzer uses the proven UV fluorescence principle to measure Total Reduced Sulfur at levels commonly required for ambient air monitoring.The Model T102 uses a high temperature external converter set at 850°C to allow conversion of H2S, methyl mercaptan, dimethyldisulfide, and methyl-disulfide to SO2 at this temperature with efficiency greater than 98%. UV Nanoimprint is a mechanical molding technique. A template made from quartz or a flexible elastomer with a 3D relief is brought into intimate contact with a UV-curable resist spin-coated on top of a substrate. Applying low imprint pressure at room temperature features are filled within seconds due to the low viscosity of the imprint resist. The resist is hardened via UV-light through the backside of the template. Finally substrate and template are separated.
