SCR ELEKTRONIKS have developed an equipment namely Earth Contact Resistance Tester to test the appliance. To ensure the safety of operator it is essential that the Earth path (connection) should offer minimum impedance to by pass short circuit Current to Earth. This is ensured by measuring Resistance of the Earth path by passing heavy Current say 25 A. The Earth Contact Resistance Tester essentially comprises of a Variable Current source with digital Ammeter to measure the Current supplied. The Voltage drop across the Earth path is measured with a digital Voltmeter. Optionally for a particular Current (25 A) the meter can be calibrated in terms of Resistance. A timer is provided to switch off the Current after the Set Time.

The TAURUS PRECIOHM ET is one of the specially designed products by TAURUS to measure earth resistivity and earth resistance in a power station. These tests are performed based on 4 point (Wenner) and 3 point (fall of potential) methods respectively. All electrical equipment in the substation and power stations are electrically connected to station earth mat with earth electrodes. The earth electrode ensures that in the event over voltage on the system due to system fault or lighting discharges etc., the parts of the equipment which are normally ”dead” as far as voltages are concerned; do not attain dangerously high potentials. An earth electrode will only be effective so long it has a low resistance to the earth and can carry large currents without deteriorating. Thus the resistance of earth electrode should be low to give good protection and it must be continuously measured and monitored in all the substations and power stations.

Our standard Helmholtz Coils are for use with fluxmeters. The Helmholtz Coil measures the magnet sample as a single magnetic moment provided that the longest dimension of the magnet sample is less than one-third (1/3) the diameter of the coil system. By definition, the magnetic moment per unit volume is the intrinsic magnetization of the sample.
