Piezo-resistive Accelerometer
-
A Piezo-resistive Accelerometer has a stable structure composed on a silicon chip created by the micromachining and semiconductor production technology. A mass and a beam on which a set of the Piezo-resisters are created on the silicon chip. A set of electrical bridged is formed by such Piezo-resistive resisters to generate signals proportional to the applied acceleration.

40mA Multi-Channel Amplifier
-
For the precise nanometer movement of actuators and other piezo products, an amplifier is required. Multi-channel amplifiers allow you to control multiple actuators or piezo products with a single amplifier. The NV40/3 piezo amplifier was designed for controlling low voltage piezo elements. It includes a voltage amplifier, a display and a PC-interface. The high-resolution display shows the voltage of the actuator, along with the mode of operation and the temperature inside the amplifier.

Spinstand Automation For Media Testing With XY-Positioning
V2002
-
Guzik V2002 XY-positioning spinstand uses the X and Y coarse positioning stages actuated by linear motors and the micro-positioning stage actuated by the piezo element aligned with X coordinate axis to place the tested head on the specified track. WITE32 software converts the requested track number and skew angle into X and Y coordinates.

Scanning Electrochemical Systems
-
The VersaSCAN is a single platform capable of providing spatial resolution to both electrochemical and materials-based measurements. Each VersaSCAN is based on a common high-resolution, long-travel, closed-loop positioning system mounted to a vibration-resistant optical base. Different auxiliary pieces are mounted to the positioning system. These ancillary pieces (e.g., an electrometer, piezo vibration unit, or a laser sensor) provide functionality to the positioning system for different scanning probe experiments. VersaSTAT potentiostats and Signal Recovery Lock-in Amplifiers are integrated via ethernet control to make accurate measurements of these small signals.

SparkFun Energy Harvester Breakout
LTC3588
-
This breakout board uses the LTC3588 Piezoelectric Energy Harvester from Linear Technologies. This board can be used not only for harvesting piezoelectric energy, but solar energy as well. There is a bridge rectified input for piezo elements (PZ1 and PZ2) and a direct input (VIN) for DC sources. Both are clamped to 20V. In addition, the board can simply be used as a standalone nanopower buck regulator.

The Nanomotor®
-
The patented Nanomotor® is a piezo driven linear motor. It is a multifunctional basic part for many positioning and manipulation devices. It has a positioning stroke of up to more than a centimeter while operating with atomic resolution. The Nanomotor thus bridges eight orders of magnitude. The Nanomotor consists of a cylindrical housing and a slider with a free axial hole inside. It combines high resolution in the sub-nanometer range with a large positioning stroke. The Nanomotor utilizes a piezo tube for fine positioning and a shock wave produced by the same piezo tube for coarse movements. The small Nanomotor is half the size of a match stick. It can lift six times its own mass. Every point of its stroke can be reached with a speed of up to 1 mm/s. The Nanomotor also works in ultrahigh vacuum or even under water. It is driven by a PC card at a supply voltage of only ±15 volts.

Integrated Laser Controller
ILC
-
AOSense has developed a compact Integrated Laser Controller (ILC) that can be paired with our External Cavity Diode Lasers (ECDLs) to control laser current, piezo transducer (PZT), and temperature. The ultra-low noise electronics are fully digitally controlled. The ILC dimensions are only 5″x2.9″x0.95″. We provide software with an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) that can control multiple lasers from a single window. If preferred, commands may be sent over a USB virtual COM port. The software screenshot below (click the image to enlarge) shows the interface including a plot of the temperature (green line) as it settles to a commanded value.

Physik Instrumente GmbH & Co. KG
Compact Parallel-Kinematic Piezo System for Nanopositioning and Fiber Alignment. In a parallel-kinematic multi-axis system, all actuators act directly on a single motion platform. This means that all axes can be designed with identical dynamic properties, which reduces the moved mass considerably. Further advantages: It is possible to make the parallel-kinematic system more compact than serial stacked or nested systems. The errors and masses of each individual axis do not accumulate.
