This high-performance UART includes 9-bit framing support and is fully software compatible with legacy 16550 applications. In addition, the board derives a 62.5 MHz clock from the PCI Express link. This ultra-high speed clock is divided by a flexible 8-bit clock prescalar with 1/8 steps to provide support for the widest range of standard and non-standard baud rates.

It shows a real time overview of the excavator in navigation, profile, and 3D views; displaying the dredge tool, pontoon/vessel, design depths, and color-coded digital terrain model (DTM). The navigation view highlights the high and low spots and is updated in real time, recording the progress of the dredging work. The recording follows the shape of the dredge tool and is visible immediately in all views. Up/down indicators show the operator the exact distance to the seafloor and design depth continuously. 3D design models allow the use of complex designs. A major problem in the backplane industry is detecting bent connector pin defects. The most difficult being when the pin bends underneath the shroud rather than going into the hole. Many times this defect cannot be detected electrically as the connector pin is touching the conductive annular ring of the hole, allowing electrical test to pass. Unfortunately, it is an intermittent connection and will fail later on as there is not an actual mechanical connection.
