The Tap Changer Analyzer & Winding Ohmmeter of the RMO-TT series is designed for winding resistance measurement of inductive objects, and for a tap changer analysis. The RMO-TT series is based on the state of the art technology, using the most advanced switch mode technology available today. The RMO-TT instruments are accurate (0,1%), powerful (up to 100 A) and still portable. The Instruments generate a true DC ripple free current with automatically regulated measurement and discharging circuit. RMO-TT instruments can perform a simple, quick and reliable transformer on-load tap changer condition assessment. This series of instruments enable measurements of a winding resistance in every tap position, current ripple values (percentage of a current drop during a tap change) and transition times during the tap changes. Problems with a connection, contacts, and selector/diverter switch operation (tap change with interruption) can be detected with these measurements.

The timing channels record closing and an opening of the arcing, resistor, and auxiliary contacts. Also, the main contact channels can measure the resistance value of the pre-insertion resistors (if present in the circuit breaker).With CAT Advanced series instruments, it is possible to record graphs of open and close coil currents. Furthermore, it records displacements of the HV and MV circuit breaker moving parts. For the measurement of tackiness (instantaneous adhesive strength) of various pastes and adhesive tapes, it is possible to quantitatively evaluate the data, which until now had large errors due to individual differences. First, press the measuring probe, which is controlled (approach speed, pressure force, pressure time, separation speed) against the sample, and measure the adhesive force in the process of separating. Measured data can be processed by a computer. With double temperature control (patented), the sample piece is preheated from the back side with a hot plate and the heated probe penetrates the measurement surface, making it possible to keep the set temperature and the temperature of the test surface to be evaluated constant. Since the pressurization time can be as short as 10msec, it is possible to measure the tackiness caused by momentary contact.
