The Plus Radio Ethernet receiver is required as part of the Tinytag Radio Data Logging System. It controls the transmission of data to and from the radio loggers: data received from the loggers is then sent to the computer for viewing with Tinytag Explorer radio software. If power to the computer running the system is lost, the receiver has a battery back-up which will maintain the mesh network until power is restored. This receiver plugs directly into a LAN removing the need for a computer in the area where monitoring is to take place. The receiver is powered using a plug-in Power over Ethernet adaptor (ACS-0041) which is supplied with the unit.

TiePie engineering has introduced the WiFiScope series oscilloscopes. The new range WiFi oscilloscopes can be used via an ethernet connection (LAN, WiFi or WAN) but also still with a USB 2.0 / 3.0 connection. The built-in battery gives the WiFiScope the possibility to perform fully wireless measurements. Measurements can then be performed completely galvanically isolated, and over long distances. This wireless PC-based data acquisition instrument offers the user more possibilities for measurement applications.With a WAN connection, worldwide measurements can be performed. Specific knowledge on networks is not required. The Multi Channel software gives an overview of the available USB instruments and network instruments. Simply tick the instrument and measuring can start. What is a virtual session border controller or virtualized SBC? Traditionally, a session border controller (SBC) is a device positioned between carrier networks or between an enterprise LAN and a service-provider WAN. In the latter case, the border controller is called an enterprise session border controller or eSBC. Whether it is delivered as a dedicated hardware session border controller or a virtualized network function, (a.k.a. software SBC) the border controller manages call (session) setup and teardown. The SBC also provides network demarcation (demarc), or separation (border) between network domains, as well as other types of management (control) over the data streams that pass between networks. With the growing popularity of software defined networking (SDN) and the burgeoning market development and adoption of network function virtualization (NFV), eSBC functionality is more and more often de-coupled from a dedicated hardware device and delivered as a virtual instance running as a virtual machine (VM) on top of a hypervisor. It is generally not well understood in the market why an eSBC is such a critical network element for a secure and reliable SIP-based enterprise phone system. The following publication will help close that knowledge gap.
