Loop-Powered Transmitters convert the output from proximity probes, seismic sensors, into a 4-20mA DC current, which is proportional to the input being measured. The transmitter converts the displacement or vibration signal to DC voltage and/or current for a DCS or PLC system. They control a 4-20mA current loop for a specified vibration range (ex. 0-5 mils peak-to-peak). The transmitters have a two-wire hook-up, powered solely by the loop current and have a power supply range of 15 to 36 volts.

Thermal sensors have a series of bimetallic junctions called a thermopile. Radial or axial heat flow through the sensor creates a voltage proportional to the power absorbed as it flows through the thermopile. The reading is not dependent on the ambient temperature since only the temperature difference is measured and not the absolute temperature. The thermopile elements are so arranged that the reading is almost independent of beam size and position. Generally, Ophir specifies ±2% or better uniformity of reading over the surface.

The detection limit complies with current European legal requirements.Furthermore, the MEXA-ONE-QL-NX offers wide measuring ranges of up to 5000 ppm (for NO). By using extremely narrowband light sources and measuring under reduced pressure the cross-sensitivity to other exhaust gas components can be drastically minimized.The complete measuring system - including filtration - is specifically developed for the measurement of NH3 and thus guarantees a very fast NH3 rise time (T10-T90) of less than 5 seconds.
