Sigfox is a communication protocol that is used to read data from sensors through a fixed network of base stations. It works like a low cost “SMS” service. As an end-user, you only need to buy a subscription to connect to the data network operated by SIGFOX. Sigfox employs a proprietary Ultra Narrow Band (UNB) radio technology that enables communication using the Industrial, Scientific and Medical ISM radio band, which uses 868MHz in Europe and 902MHz in the US. HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) is an HTTP-based media streaming protocol implemented by Apple Inc. It breaks the overall stream into a sequence of small files, each containing one short chunk of an overall finite or unbounded transport stream.
