Sound recognition is one of the main application areas of artificial intelligence. Various sound recognition techniques exist and can be used for recognizing speeches, music, environmental sounds, animal sounds, air-borne or structure-borne machine sounds, etc. These techniques contain in common signal pre-processing, feature extraction and feature matching / classification algorithms from a general perspective. However, they differ in implementation in different applications. For example, there are a few good automatic speech recognition software products and APIs, however, they just cannot be used directly in animal sound classifications.

New features include the introduction of a packet generator in the hardware. This allows the card to generate SpaceWire packets at high speeds without using the host PC’s resources. Similarly, a new packet checker has also been added to the hardware design. The high performance driver boasts a full API which allows the user to control all functions of the card, supporting C and C++. Both the API and board design are common across several other STAR-Dundee devices. This makes it easy and quick to migrate user application software across different platforms. The board also supports field upgrades, such that any future revisions or a requested customisation can be downloaded from the STAR-Dundee website and installed.

1553 to Ethernet Converter

eNet is a small, rugged 1553 to Ethernet appliance/converter (~200 grams and about the size of a 4 stub coupler) and offers the same advanced BC, mRT and BM functions as our cards. In addition, eNet can provide an additional independent BM mode to auto bridge (transmit) 1553 messages on user defined IP/UDP packet header. The appliance can also auto-load setup images for fast auto start-up, which would be ideal for simple RT applications that wouldn’t even need an API interface (just a standard UDP interface – usually through simple socket programming).

The main goal of Virtual Serial Port Driver by Eltima Software is creating virtual COM port pairs. Virtual serial ports created in VSPD behave as if they were real ports and are taken for the real ones with the serial applications. Via these ports serial applications can communicate with each other and transfer data via virtual null-modem cable. The data written to one virtual serial port can be instantly read from the other. Virtual serial ports created in VSPD support all serial port settings, strict baudrate emulation, HandFlow control and signal lines.
