The HSIR is the ground test facility and it simulates various LRUs/sensors interfaced with the HAWK Mission Computer. RIG consists of Industrial computers with Simulation modules, Acquisition modules, Video generator module and video display monitors. RIG provides the simulated inputs to both the MCs from each simulated sensor/ LRU through hardwired signals, through the MIL-1553B, Arinc 429, RS-422, RS232 and Ethernet etc. The rig is capable of testing two MCs together either of which can be used as the Bus Controller (BC) or the Remote Terminal (RT). The rig provides the facility to monitor and acquire the MIL-1553B, Arinc 429, RS-422, and RS232 Ethernet bus, Analog IOs, Synchro IOs, Discrete IOs and transactions that takes place between the MCs and various sensors/units. This software inverts resistivity and IP data acquired with electrodes arranged in boreholes and/or on the surface and presents a 3D volume of inverted resistivity data with advanced volume rendering technique. The final resistivity or IP image-volume can be rotated in any orientation, zoomed in and out, and translated to anywhere inside the image window in order to see the volume of interest in detail. Colors representing areas of less interest can be made transparent so that the shape of a pollution plume, for example, can be visible. With EarthImager, 3D resistivity inversion can be as easy as two steps: Read Data and Start Inversion with only a few mouse clicks.

The Ф4 Ultra-high Vacuum Scanning Kelvin Probe system gives the user full access to work function measurements under vacuum with the ability to alter the temperature from 77 K to 860 K. The Kelvin Probe measurement has resolution of 1 - 3 meV for a 2 mm tip on a conducting sample. The sample is mounted on a plate that is located on a motorized (x, y, z) translator attached to a stainless-steel vacuum chamber. Phi 4 also comes with a photoemission spectroscopy system with a tuneable source (3.4 - 7.0 eV). The deep ultra-violet (DUV) light spot measures approximately 3 x 4 mm. Absolute work function measurements can be obtained with this system in the range of 4.0 - 6.5 eV with an accuracy of 0.05 - 0.1 eV.
