Solar Simulation Systems
-
PET Solar Simulators consist of a Light Source with a built-in Lamp Power Supply. The Solar Simulator has an ellipsoidal reflector that surrounds the lamp and collects most of the lamp output. The radiation from the lamp is focused onto an optical integrator that helps produce a uniform diverging beam. The beam is diverted 90° by a mirror onto a collimating lens. Special filters are placed between the mirror and the collimating lens to shape the radiation spectra to match various air masses. The output is a uniform beam that closely matches the sun's radiation spectra for a given air mass. Various models offer different areas of illumination. Each model can be manufactured to simulate the sun's radiation for different air masses.

Atlas Material Testing Solutions
Solar heat load effects are critical with respect to product functionality, operational performance, thermal management, noise and dimensional stability. Therefore, any new product made from different materials and components should be tested under solar environmental conditions representative of those locations in which it will exist - anywhere ranging from the heat of the Australian Outback to the frigid climate of arctic regions.

Solar Simulator for Concentrator Cells
-
Optosolar offers solar simulators with continuous light for small area solar cells (ca. 10mm x 10mm). depending on the cell size, the concentration ratio can exceed 1000 suns. Special designs cover low concentration on large area wafers (156mm x 156mm), as well as line focus applications (e.g. 8mm x 156mm at 8 suns). Flashlight Solar Simulators have the advantage of negligible temperature change to the solar cell. For this reason, they are often used for very high concentration ratios or for multijunction cells in a solar simulator with adjustable spectrum.

LED Solar Simulator
LumiSun-50
-
The LumiSun-50™ is a high power, multi-wavelength LED solar simulator that meets IEC 60904-9 Class AAA for spectral match, uniformity of irradiance, and temporal stability. The LumiSun-50 achieves a spatially uniform illumination field from a chip-on-board (COB), multiple-wavelength LED die array. The field of illumination is 50 x 50 mm at a working distance of 200 mm. The LumiSun-50 includes a driver/controller which individually provides constant current to each die in the COB array. Total irradiance of 1.1 sun units is provided and can be decreased to 0.1 suns. The LED light source of the LumiSun-50 is contained within an air-cooled housing that can rotate the angular beam alignment. Adjustment and setting of the optimum light path working distance is visually facilitated by a converging pair of red dot laser pointers.

AFM (Atomic Force Microscope) Optical Platform
-
The AFM platform allows fully-integrated use of confocal Raman microscopy and AFM for Tip-Enhanced Optical Spectroscopies (such as Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS) and Tip-Enhanced PhotoLuminescence (TEPL)), but also for truly co-localized AFM-Raman measurements. The myriad of AFM (Atomic Force Microscope) techniques that allow study of topographical, electrical and mechanical properties can be performed with any laser source available in Raman spectrometer, or with other external illumination (e.g., solar simulator or other tunable or continuum source). TERS and TEPL can provide nanoscale chemical and structural information, making the AFM-Raman platform a two-way road; where complimentary techniques provide novel and unique imaging capabilities to each other.

Unisim
-
TS-Space Systems is the first company to pioneer the use of metal halide sources in solar simulators for photovoltaic testing. The high temporal stability and close spectral match combined with the ability to control the output spectrum via multiple separate wavebands means the Unisim solar simulator is the only solar research tool designed for the accurate measurement of multiple junction devices, including the new generation of four junction devices. As with all our Unisim solar simulators, they exceed the ASTM, IEC and JIS international standards for spectral match and temporal instability.Using the latest HMI and halogen luminaire technology, the Unisim solar simulator provides a highly stable area of illumination. The simulators also use cutting edge filter technology in order to provide the best spectral match available for AM0 and AM1.5. Further to this, the spectrum can be achieved via two, three or four separate spectral wavebands which allows a high degree of spectral control for research and development.Product support is very important to us. Training is provided at our premises where customers can take advantage of one-on-one tuition with the instrument designers and learn how to operate and maintain their tools. Extensive support via phone and email for the full lifetime of the instrument is included with every TS-Space Systems product.

Flashlight Solar Simulator
-
Flashlight Solar Simulators have the advantage of negligible temperature change to the solar cell. For this reason, they are primarily used in cell and module production environments. Also, they are a more budgetary alternative if large cell areas are to be illuminated, because it is easier to have excellent light uniformity on areas of 8 in x 8 in or larger. So, this type of solar simulator is also used for analysis of large area thin film solar cells. But care must be taken, as some materials (e.g. CIGS) have long inherent time constants, so that the pulse length (better: flash plateau) must be chosen accordingly.
