What is a virtual session border controller or virtualized SBC? Traditionally, a session border controller (SBC) is a device positioned between carrier networks or between an enterprise LAN and a service-provider WAN. In the latter case, the border controller is called an enterprise session border controller or eSBC. Whether it is delivered as a dedicated hardware session border controller or a virtualized network function, (a.k.a. software SBC) the border controller manages call (session) setup and teardown. The SBC also provides network demarcation (demarc), or separation (border) between network domains, as well as other types of management (control) over the data streams that pass between networks. With the growing popularity of software defined networking (SDN) and the burgeoning market development and adoption of network function virtualization (NFV), eSBC functionality is more and more often de-coupled from a dedicated hardware device and delivered as a virtual instance running as a virtual machine (VM) on top of a hypervisor. It is generally not well understood in the market why an eSBC is such a critical network element for a secure and reliable SIP-based enterprise phone system. Nex Flow® Air amplifiers are compact, low cost air flow “movers” that are virtually maintenance free. Applications include the venting of fumes and smoke, conveying of low weight materials, and entraining a high volume of air to cool, blow off, and dry. Air Amplfiiers use the “Coanda effect” to draw in the surrounding atmosphereic air while consuming only aminimal amount of compressed air. These products can amplify airflow up to 17 times (depending on the size) resulting in dramatcally reduced levels of noise. Air Amplifiers (also called Air Movers) draw in atmospheric air from the back of the unit as well as having downstream entrainment further amplifying the flow. They are used for cooling and venting. While the force produced for blow off decreases as the amplifier outlet diameter increases, these Air Movers are ideal for cooling because of the high velocity outlet fow and and are much more effective for cooling compaed to air nozzles.

The O Series combines high performance with a small x-ray spot size. This is made possible by the poly-capillary focusing optics system that replaces the collimator assembly installed in standard Bowman systems. The optics are designed to focus the x-rays coming from the tube exit window to a very small spot size (80μm FWHM) while retaining virtually 100% of the tube flux. So instead of attenuating the x-rays that can’t fit through the small apertures, as is the case with collimator systems, the poly-capillary optics assembly allows almost all of the x-rays from the tube to reach the sample. The result is much greater sensitivity for testing very small components or thin coatings. Shorter test times can achieve even better repeatability when comparing optics systems vs. a similar sized collimator.
