MD-100 SERIES
Our pioneering experience has led us to be the world leader in the design and manufacturing of durable dynamometer equipment that stands the test of time and the 100 model has been one of our most durable models. Mustang has supplied over 50,000 variants based on the 100 chassis over the last 25-years and we estimate that about 1.5 billion tests have been performed on the 100 model during this time. The 100 series offers the small shop owner the right equipment for road testing and power checking of today’s modern automobiles and pick up trucks. The 100 is offered at an attractive price and with features that meet the needs of repair professionals more concerned with repairs than performance tuning. The 100 is also an excellent choice for high schools and colleges as it can be used for educational purposes. Optional emissions testers can be added to teach students how to use the dynamometer for reducing emissions. The 100 can be installed in a pit or paired with Mustang’s lightweight composite ramps for installation above-ground.

Performance Dynamometer
The MD-250-HD was designed to be a performance dynamometer first, with the added benefit of being able to test 2-wheel-drive heavy-duty vehicles such as truck, buses and commercial vehicles. No other dyno in its class offers more value or better in-house motor vehicle testing capabilities than the Mustang MD-250-HD. For starters, the MD-250-HD can boasts a 1,500 horsepower measurement capacity at a top speed of 175 mph and a powerful air-cooled eddy current brake provides the MD-250-HD with 900-hp worth of loading capacity for steady state testing.

The AWD-1750 is the newest AWD dynamometer built by Mustang. It has a set of 50" rollers that are mechanically linked to another 3 or 4 sets of 12.625" rollers. An air clutch allows you to switch between 2WD and AWD modes by clicking a button. No moving parts to handle different wheelbases.

MD-500-SE XL
The 500 series dynamometer has a larger big brother – the MD-500-SE XL! The 500-SE is an excellent 2WD performance dynamometer and the XL model expands on these traits by adding in a much wider 98-inch outer track and a HUGE mechanical flywheel to increase the mechanical inertia of the dyno to about 2,000-lbs. This additional inertia helps reduce the duty cycle burden on the eddy current PAU and even allows for pulls to be done in a pinch in inertia-only mode. The XL handles vehicles like diesels and Ford Raptors where the 500 is a bit too narrow for these types of applications. The MD-500 XL’s multiple upgrade paths allows for an AWD upgrade in the future and enables it to accept a second eddy current PAU for increased loading capability. We’ve seen this dyno handle almost 2,000-hp to the wheels on power sweeps so don’t be fooled by the 1,500-hp peak measurement specification. If your tires will hook you can measure as much power as you are laying to the rollers. The large K250 eddy current PAU has plenty of torque for testing and tuning anything from your local diesel pickup crowd and local LS guys to classic carb stuff and front wheel drive cars. The 500-XL is great product at a great price with tons of range. MD-7500-HD
Today’s Fleet Managers are faced with many challenges – most important of which is maintaining a healthy bottom line. With fuel costs at an all-time high, these challenges have become increasing difficult. Fleets being transitioned from fossil fuels to electric propulsion also face challenges with durability and range to make sure routes can be completed on time each and every day. To help combat these problems and others facing fleet managers today, Mustang Dynamometer offers the MD-7500-HD Series Chassis Dynamometer – which features the most advanced diagnostic capabilities in the industry. The MD-7500-HD is designed to simulate the driving conditions that fleet vehicles encounter on the road every day in a safe and controlled shop floor environment so that critical engine and drivetrain systems can be evaluated to insure vehicles are performing properly and at maximum efficiency. What’s more, the MD-7500-HD offers several levels of testing capabilities in a modular, compact package and with capabilities that can be upgraded in the future as your needs change. Every vehicle in your fleet can now be tested and validated before and after a repair to ensure proper diagnosis and repairs have been performed. In addition to testing repaired vehicles, the MD-7500-HD can be used to test vehicles on a regular basis as a preventative maintenance measure which decreases unexpected breakdowns and allows fleet management to control fuel costs while reducing repair costs. Periodic testing keeps fuel consumption to a minimum and helps technicians identify suspect components before they fail. A proactive approach to Fleet Service can prevent unexpected engine and or drive-train failure which saves organizations thousands of dollars in lost fair revenues. At the heart of the MD-7500-HD is a set of three air-cooled eddy current power absorbers. Each absorber, or brake, can hold up to 600-hp (total power of 1,800-hp) – more than enough to simulate a fully loaded transit bus. As the systems PAU’s (brakes) are air-cooled, no water is required to or from the device – eliminating the high cost of water consumption and/or the cost of an expensive water recovery system – which can sometimes exceed the cost of the dynamometer system itself. Mustang is the only company that offers a Universal Fleet Test Bed without water supply requirements. AC Motors can be added to simulate regeneration and validate range for organizations that have transitioned to carbon free electric propulsion. The 7500 is the best solution for fleet managers looking to improve their bottom line and offer disruption-free public transportation.

Mustang designed the MD-AWD-800-DE-24×2 Series to be a dyno that could be easily adapted to fit virtually any testing scenario without ever having to compromise. In AWD mode, the 800 Series XL can test AWD vehicles with wheelbases up to 134” long, enough to handle Hummer H1s. In 2WD mode, the 800 Series uses a single 24” diameter roller with a low base mechanical inertia to allow you to test the lightest vehicles out there.

AWD Dynamometers
Full time AWD vehicles are designed to provide maximum performance regardless of road conditions. In cases where traction is less than ideal, a vehicle may be designed to improve stability and traction at the expense of power. This means adding torque to a spinning wheel or retarding of timing. In order to properly test an AWD vehicle for peak performance, an AWD chassis dynamometer must be able to simulate ideal road-load conditions to the vehicle. This approach allows the vehicle to be evaluated under "optimum" operational conditions; whereby torque is distributed to the vehicle's tires in the same manner that would normally occur when a vehicle has equal traction at all four drive wheels, and is therefore operating at peak efficiency.

The MD-1750 has the largest set of rollers in the industry at 50-inches. The MD-1750 is available with a wide 96-inch outer track for testing large Diesel Trucks.
