Today, TESCO’s line of Test Switches has been redesigned with the intention to combine the best features of tried and proven switching methods with improvements in materials and construction. All of the current carrying parts are bright tin plated to prevent corrosion. Good operating contact is assured on periodic meter tests, even when the switch has been idle for long periods of time in an unfavorable atmosphere.

Service Ground Test Set

TESCO’s Service Ground Test Set has been designed to check the condition of the ground connection on a secondary service. If for any reason the ground connection has a resistance, this can be immediately detected by the Test Set. The Service Ground Test Set consists of a voltmeter which can be shunted by a resistance of 60 ohms. The voltmeter is of the suppressed zero type with a double range, from 65 to 130 or from 130 to 260, and can be used for checking service voltage independently of the ground test.

The Type 2J6 Knopp Uniload Voltage Transformer Test Set consists of three major parts: When the Knopp Precision Transformer in the 2J6 set is compensated for, and used with, a secondary burden of 15 volt-amperes, for example, the ratio of this precision transformer is well within 0.02% and the phase angle is well within 2 minutes. The transformer, in common with other Knopp Precision Multirange Transformers, is wound so that it has practically the same ratio and phase angle accuracy on all ranges.

When combined with a Field Test Kit and powered via inverter (commonly used on service trucks), the Field Test Interface will then power the Field Test Kit to create a single position, stand-alone, meter accuracy testing device for various socket based meters (both mechanical & solid-state). TESCO’s new CT Ratio/Burden Tester (Catalog No. 1047) is a lightweight, portable and highly accurate in-service test set to assist in finding lost revenue by testing the accuracy of your meter circuits. The Tester can help determine if there are installations errors, loose connections, incorrect ratios, resistance buildup, open CT’s, or manufacturers defects. The CT Ratio/Burden Tester measures and displays the primary and secondary current of the CT under test, and the ratio of the currents.
