Our line of full-band noise sources are specially designed for easy integration into microwave systems. They feature rugged construction with excellent long-term stability. In addition to the RF output choices, there are also different packages available to meet a wide range of mechanical constraints. Typical applications include jamming, radar alignment, SNR testing and general lab use.

Broadband Coaxial Noise Sources

Our integrated noise modules contain all the required biasing circuitry and only need a positive voltage to activate for an easy installation. Since they typically do not contain amplification, the raw noise output from the diode is seen at the output of the module resulting in a maximum ENR of approximately 35dB. Primary applications include system built-in test and laboratory use.

These modules not only contain the noise diode circuitry, but also gain stages to boost the output power. While lower frequencies (under 2 GHz) are most common, Mercury produces powerful amplified noise modules up to 18 GHz. Noise modules are available in coaxial, surface mount and pin type construction.
