Cable Test Box
-
Cables are a critical part of any sensor measurement system and damaged cables cause frequent delays during test setup. PCB has developed a relatively simple device to test cables on a channel by channel basis for BNC, 10-32, and 5-44 coaxial connectors. Simply connect both ends of the cable and faults will be indicated for shield failure, conductor failure, or short circuit shield to conductor. Power is provided by a single, replaceable 9 volt battery.

Miniature Piezoelectric Accelerometers
-
Structured with highly sensitive piezoceramic sensing elements, miniature Ceramic Shear ICP® Accelerometers have an excellent signal-to-noise ratio, high measurement resolution, and are ideal for conducting low-level vibration measurements. Due to their inherent higher sensitivity, a ceramic ICP® accelerometer can be assembled with a smaller mass than comparable quartz units, resulting in a sensor that is lighter in weight, has a higher frequency response, and has a lower noise floor. To further reduce the mass of the sensors, all ceramic shear accelerometers are housed in either tough, lightweight, laser-welded, hermetically sealed, titanium or aluminum housings. By minimizing the mass of the sensor, mass loading effects are reduced, which maximizes the accuracy of the data obtained.

Torque Transducers
-
The technology behind our torque sensors are strain gages. These gages are arranged into a Wheatstone Bridge circuit, which converts the physical, mechanical force into an electrical signal that can be filtered, displayed, and recorded for further processing. This very accurate radiometric electrical signal is proportional to the applied mechanical force.

Cryogenic ICP® Accelerometers
-
Cryogenic ICP® accelerometers are specifically designed to operate at temperatures below the typical -65 ºF (-54 ºC) temperature limit of most voltage mode sensors. The use of specialized, built-in, cryogenic circuitry and quartz shear sensing technology promote survivability in demanding environments such as liquid nitrogen. Each sensor is hermetically sealed and individually tested to determine the thermal coefficient of sensitivity at -320 ºF (-196 ºC) ensuring reliable operation and accurate measurements. These sensors have been successfully used in the presence of liquid helium during structural testing of rocket boosters.

Ballistic Pressure Sensors
-
PCB® has supplied high frequency, durable, quartz ballistics pressure sensors in both charge and ICP® voltage mode versions for over forty years. Keeping with our tradition, PCB continues to offer a complete line of sensors for conformal and case mouth ballistic measurements. All PCB sensors are provided with NIST traceable calibration. For pre-calibration stabilization purposes, all ballistic pressure sensors are hydraulically cycled at high pressures and most are test fired in the PCB ballistic firing range.

High Temperature ICP® Accelerometers
-
PCB® offers specially designed and tested ICP® accelerometers for conducting vibration and shock measurements under demanding environmental conditions of up to 356 °F (180 °C). These sensors combine proven quartz and ceramic shear sensing technology with specialized, built-in microelectronic signal conditioning circuitry to achieve dependable operation in extreme temperatures and through repetitive temperature cycling. Laser-welded, hermetically sealed, lightweight titanium or stainless steel housings offer further protection from the environment. Prior to shipment, each sensor undergoes a battery of tests to ensure survivability for its intended use. Such tests include temperature soak at elevated temperatures, temperature cycling, and exposure to highly accelerated screening procedures with hydraulically actuated shakers.

3-Component Quartz Force Rings
260 Series
-
Three-component quartz force ring sensors are capable of simultaneously measuring dynamic force in three orthogonal directions (X, Y, and Z). They contain three sets of quartz plates that are stacked in a preloaded arrangement. Each set responds to the vector component of an applied force acting along its sensitive axis. 3-component ring force sensors must be statically preloaded for optimum performance. Preloading provides the sensing elements with the compressive loading required to allow the proper transmission of shear forces. Versions are available with ranges up to 10k lb (45k N) in the z-axis (perpendicular to the top surface), and up to 4000 lb (18k N) in the x-and y (shear) axes. Both ICP® and charge output styles are available.

Modal Shakers
-
The Modal Shop’s modal shakers are a proven solution in test laboratories around the world. With force ratings from 4.5 to 100 lbf (20 to 440 N), these shakers are suitable for a wide range of modal analysis applications. When performing experimental modal analysis and structural testing, the choice of excitation function and system will make the difference between a good measurement and a poor one. For many applications, an electrodynamic shaker system is the ideal choice. The Modal Shop’s line of modal shakers is designed to be highly portable, rugged and easy to set up in order to facilitate the best testing results. The exciter size allows a diversity of placement locations relative to the test structure, while minimizing any unwanted interaction between the exciter and test structure.

General Purpose Quartz Force Sensors
-
General purpose force sensors are offered in either stud or axial mounted configurations. They are internally pre-loaded and can be used for dynamic compression, tension, and impact force measurements. Tapped mounting holes on both ends of the radial connector style support link, platform, integrated link, and free-standing installations. The axial mounted type offers protection of the electrical connector and sensor cable from potential damage during drop testing and in free-standing installations. Supplied impact caps facilitate impact and drop force measurements.
